Two primary school teachers and one elderly man were shot dead by UPDF soldiers last week in Kitgum district.
The teachers were killed near a UPDF unit in Pajimo Parish, 16 kms northwest of Kitgum town.
One dead teacher was identified as Olum Patrict, a finalist at Kitgum Core PTC. Another was identified as Peter Ayela of Lugwa Primary School in Akwang sub-county.
The old man, Charles Labeja, 64, was shot by another group of soldiers at his home at Lamola Parish in Chua County.
The cause of the killings is yet to be established.
Kitgum LC-V Chairman Nahman Ojwee and the Resident District Commissioner Lt. Santo Okot Lapolo confirmed the killings by government forces. Ojwee said last week's killing brings the number of civilians slain
by soldiers to 14 in the last six months in Kitgum.
Okot-Lapolo said three soldiers have been arrested in connection with the killings.
