I reckon you are right once again. Northern Uganda region, like any part of our country, has the potential of producing food in abundance enough for every Ugandan.
The people of Uganda need peace...and everything else will follow.
But then, but then NRM regime in Kampala is insisting that it wants to solve many of Uganda's problems militarily. However in spite of many military operations, it does appear that the NRM can no longer claim success in nay of this operations.
Instead, the NRM have decided to lie to the people of Uganda.
Pronouncements are issued stating that KONY is defeated, and yet a few days later the LRA continues to launch ambushes on the civilian population with absolute impunity. ... and there is nothing the UPDF can do about. When the ambushes occur, Batarazi tells us that were launch by KONY REMNANTS who will soon be finished.....Indeed what kind of remnants is this who keep operating as if to say Operation Iron Fisty ( whatever) never even dented their capability to fight?

Meanwhile, in Washington, our tough talking Bush administration (YOGI BEAR if you ask me) is busy providing funds to the regime in Kampala .. I hear to fight KONY terrorism.
It does not occur to the administration that promoting wars in northern Uganda only lead to more suffering of the population in northern Uganda.
Now the administration in Washington sends Roger Winters(dictator Yowerii Museveni's Chief apologist in the West) to I hear to "assess the food situation in the Northern Uganda" What is that going to do?

You see this whole thing is very wrong and the Americans have failed to understand it. What we need in Northern Uganda is not Metric tons of food, what we need in Northern Uganda is to look for a permanent solution which must start with a total with draw of Uganda People's Defence forces. And I am putting it on record that we will never get peace in Northern Uganda until when UPDF gets out or the throwing out of NRM. And there is no debate on that what so ever.
Why am I sure about that? For we have seen each and every thing Uganda government is working for, and in its all planning there is no single line which reads "Let there be peace in Northern Uganda" If NRM wanted peace up there it would have achieved it very many years ago. Those are the facts, you can take them or leave them.
