FEBRUARY 2003 PAN AFRICAN FORUM
AFRICANS AND THE AMERICAN IMPERIALIST WAR AGAINST IRAQ
American President George Bush is a MAD IMPERIALIST RIDING A PAPER TIGER.
Former South African President Nelson Mandela describes the United States of
America as "One power with a President who has no foresight, who can not
think properly, is wanting to plunge the world into a holocaust."
Mandela further said, "If there is a country that has committed unspeakable
atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America...What Bush
wants is
to get hold of Iraqi oil."

Bush's plans to invade Iraq to seize Iraq's vast oil reserves, may not
result
in the outcomes he is seeking. Having been terrorised by American and
British
bombing raids over the past 10 years, the Iraqi people are being further
terrorised by the threat of war and the use of nuclear weapons against them.
The
Iraqis have suffered 10 years of sanctions during which malnutrition,
illnesses
and lack of medical care and the death of over 1 million Iraqi children have
wrecked their country. Yet, they may still possess the courage to frustrate
American imperialist plans.

Following the United Nations Inspectors' Reports and the monster
demonstrations in Britain and world-wide, the Bush administration now finds
itself backed into NO WIN SITUATION of its own causing. What ever it does,
it
ends up a loser. A declining super power, it faces further decline if it
beats a
tactical and diplomatic withdrawal from war. Should it be irrational enough
to
launch its imperialist war to seize Iraq's oil assets, it faces much further
and
steeper decline. International mass opposition to war is forcing it to
choose
the least worse option.

The current situation shops the truth of Mao Tse Tung's statement that
"UNITED
STATES IMPERIALISM IS A PAPER TIGER. Last week, it was talking of war
immediately after Han's Blix's Report to the United Nations Security
Council.
This week, it is talking of war in three weeks. Its plans are being blown
off
the war course by the winds of international opposition to its plans for
world
domination.

Africans have played a decisive role in blowing America's war plans off
course. Mandela's statement above; South African President Thabo Mbeki's
vocal opposition; the decision of the African Union to oppose America's war
plans; the UNITY AND SOLIDARITY of the African Group on the UN Security
Council; the vigorous opposition of North American African Organisations and
African peoples opposition in Britain; all these have contributed; all these
have contributed to blowing America's war plans off course.
The USA plans to invade Iraq under OPERATION SHOCK AND AWE. The full
military
might of the USA is to be used against Iraq. These Mad Imperialists plan to
show
the world what Armageddon looks like by unleashing America's full military
arsenal against the Iraqi people. Millions will be killed and untold
destruction
caused. Yet, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, isolated from the vast
majority
of British people, says this will be an act of humanity. As Michael Bradley
postulates in The Ice man Inheritance, love for killing people is one of the
traits of the Ice Man.

Not only that, it wants to terrorise the rest of humanity into submission to
American military domination. France, Germany, Belgium, Russia and China
recognised that. That is why they have thwarted America's war plans and that
is why they will continue to thwart America's war plans.
If the USA can get away with stealing Iraq's oil under the bogus cover of
disarming Sadam Husein of weapons of mass destruction, it will be emboldened
to try to seize Africa's vast mineral and oil wealth.
USA supervised the brutal slaughter of over 4 million Congolese in the proxy
war fought on its behalf by Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi. But military
intervention by Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe defeated America's proxy war
against the Congolese people. So United States imperialism is not
invincible, it can be defeated.
Should America succeed in Iraq, it will have no qualms threatening African
leaders and countries with invasion and war if they do not do its bidding.
Africans be warned. Africa and Africans world-wide must sit up and take
notice and continue to develop and build our solidarity and unity in action
against the threats posed by United States imperialism.
The African Communities in Britain must not stand aside and do nothing.
Indeed, many participated in the monster demonstration held in London on
15th February.  What more must we do? What more can we do. These are some of
the issues to be discussed at this February 2003 Pan African Forum.
The speakers are: George Shiri of the Zimbabwe African National Union;
Esther Stanford of the Forum For Africans and African Descendants Against
racism (UK);
Ousman of the Movement For Justice in Africa, Gambia Section; and Yaw
Adu-Larbi of the Convention Peoples Party of Ghana.
