I disagree.

Africa is huge, besides, there are lots of natural resources. Those who argue that there should be population control in Africa(mostly europeans by the way) do so because they want to maintain their hold on Africa as a continent and Africans as a people. Also, they know that if African population increases sharply, then standard of life in europe and the Americas will maybe drop. This is because as more and more Africans become aware of their rights and start to become active politically, definitely the imbalance of relationship we see today will begin to erode. We have a huge continnent, and the total population is not even one billion yet. China, the third largest country in the world, has a total population of over a billion. The total land mass of china if compared to that of Africa, china is too small. Even resource wise.

We are constantly being hold down because we do not have the population we should have in the continent. Less than a billion people is too small for Africa. Besides, for Africans to be free, they need huge manpower. If the chinese were say 1,000, 000 people, do you believe the revolution brought in the country by Mao would have lasted? Nay!

God or nature gave us large brains, relative to anything else in the Animal Kingdom, so that we may use them to plan our lives, not only just so may use various parts of the head to hang our jewellery... 
In the case of Brazil, their problem is that they did not slam on the brakes 
soon enough! Their population was some 176 millions in 2000. At that time 
nearly 40% was under the age of twenty (20) years.
 
Another thing: ok, Brazil is poor, but comp!

% in poverty (note the level too), dereasing rate of population increase.

Ohh, I didn't know about that. All I know is that Western/European Countries are scared of becoming the minority in the next millenium(3000). And they already are, population wise. They undermine Asia and Africa, but I will tell you that we are soo many to get rid of. But I have nothing against Western/European Countries or their people. They have helped other continents get on their feet. So, we don't want to lose them because they have helped us get rid of some dictators in Asia and Africa. They have helped us on some dictators like Museveni. They are liberating us inform of being "donors" so that our leadership accepts multi-partism.
