MEMBERS of Parliament are investigating the cause of conflicts between Sabiny and Pokot communities on the Uganda-Kenya border, a regional parliamentary peace forum has said.
The chairman of Amani Parliamentary Forum Uganda Chapter, Martin Wandera, recently said the MPs would liaise with the Centre for Conflict Resolution to carry out the investigations.
Amani brings together MPs from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Zambia, aiming at peaceful resolution of conflicts.
Wandera said the investigations would cover an incident in April, in which Kenyan Pokot attacked Suam sub-county in Kapchorwa district and killed 30 people, most of them women and children.
Wandera said the findings of the investigation would be communicated to Kenyan MPs.

He was accompanied by MPs Dan Kidega, Alleluya Ikote, Capt. David Matovu, Jjalia Bintu, Gertrude Kulany and Dr. John Yeko.
The MPs held talks with district security officials, LC5 councillors, and residents.
