Putting the snakes out of our house

From the Diaspora

Lester Lewis

CONSIDERING Africa and the Project for the New American Century, it was noted that in the run-up to the American invasion of Iraq, the general secretary of the African National Congress of South Africa thought that South Africa would be the next country to be invaded under this PNAC. This is the plan under which America seeks to dominate the world in this the 21st century.

To some people, this may seem an aberration. A small right-wing clique of Zionists and fellow travellers, all closely associated with the Zionist state of Israel seem to be determining American foreign policy. George Bush, described by Nelson Mandela as a president who does not think, has said that he would not allow any other power to rival American power. But history has shown that powers rise up and decline over time. Rome was the superpower of its day but it fell. The Holy Roman Empire that ruled over Europe is no more. At one time, Portugal was said to be the strongest power on earth but where is Portugal today? Then the British boasted that the sun never sets on the British Empire. This quickly fell apart under the hammer blows dealt to it by the Pan-African movement. Considering the rise of American power, although the USA is at the height of its power, it is a declining power. It is still at the top but it has gone over the top and the motor is heading downhill. It was in order to halt this downhill slide that America invaded Iraq to steal Iraqs oil. Illegal under the United Nations Charter, the United Nations Security Council legitimised an illegal act after the event. The alleged purpose for the illegal war against Iraq was to disarm Saddam Hussein of Weapons of Mass Destruction. But WMDs, Saddam did not have. It has now become clear that Britain and America, Bush and Blair had long been aware that Iraq did not possess WMDs. The Zionist Paul Wolfowitz is deputy to US defence secretary Donald Rumsfield. He told the American magazine Vanity Fair that for reasons that have a lot to do with the US government bureaucracy, we settled on the issue that everyone could agree on: weapons of mass destruction. So disarming Iraq of WMDs was just a convenient excuse for the invasion and colonisation of Iraq. Not having found any WMDs, the Americans and British are not leaving Iraq but are busy setting up deals to rebuild Iraq that will enrich American companies with which the cabal close to Bush has ties. In Britain, former International Development Secretary Claire Short has exposed Prime Minister Tony Blair as a liar. She said that Blair had come to a secret agreement with the US to attack Iraq. Blair had been accused of doctoring secret service reports to justify the invasion. What has come to light is that in March 2002, British intelligence wrote a report to Prime Minister Blair stating that Saddam Hussein posed no threat to anyone and there was no credible light linking Saddam to Osama bin Laden or al Qaeda. The Caribbean writer Angela Cole tried desperately to prevent the war against Iraq. She alerted various sections of the British media that even if Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, it did not have the capacity or the delivery systems to launch them. Both Britain and America were aware of that fact. But the British media were not interested, intent as they were in pursuing their racist new age of empire project. Saddam Hussein had employed Canadian Dr Gerald Bull to build his super gun in Iraq. Bulls company, Space Research Corporation, had developed a gun that could launch satellites into outer space. The prototype, the longest gun in the world, was built on the Caribbean Island of Barbados. Bull was way ahead of the US in the delivery systems for launching satellites into space and his system was easier to make and much cheaper. So weapons manufacturers in the US were against him. The Israelis murdered Bull in 1990 before he could complete the delivery system for Saddam Hussein. Israel determined that no so-called Third World country should acquire the technology to deliver long-range projectiles. After former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger supplied Israel with stolen uranium to manufacture its nuclear weapons, it gave the technology to the apartheid rulers of South Africa so that they could develop nuclear weapons as well. It was the ANC guerilla fighter Zola Zemba who brought the news to Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau of Bulls gun in South Africa. Bush is now trying to justify the invasion and colonisation of Iraq as being part of the war against international terrorism. But Angela Cole also reminds us that the United States Central Intelligence Agency carried out the first act of international terrorism.

In 1976, the CIA planted a bomb on a Cuban plane ferrying Cuban troops to Angola. Barbados was the last stop before flying from the Caribbean to Angola. Soon after take off, the bomb exploded destroying the aircraft and killing all 67 people on board. So this American crusade against international terrorism is merely a deception to bend foreign governments to do Americas bidding. Those African governments that are co-operating and collaborating with the US should be aware of Americas intentions in Africa. Writing in the British newspaper The Sunday Times of March 23 1998, Sam Kiley described these intentions when he wrote: The US government sees a rich future for American industry in the 700 million potential customers in Africa, which coincidentally has the worlds largest unexploited mineral reserves. At that time, Ghanaian President Flight-Lieutenant Jerry Rawlings, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and the Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame were said to offer hope of profits for America. One of the vehicles for the plunder of Africas wealth is the American Africa Growth Opportunities Act. The former CIA operative Leon Sullivan launched this in Ghana in 1999. Africans must be clear. AGOA is an instrument of control for giving Americans control of African economies. The objectives of AGOA include privatisation of state industries that are efficient in creating employment in a continent where unemployment is rampant, access to African markets for American manufactured products that Africans can manufacture themselves, protection for American finance capital which means investment without risk and most important of all, greater access to Africa vast mineral resources. When President Laurent Kabila of the Democratic Republic of Congo blocked their access to the Congos vast mineral wealth, these killers of Patrice Lumumba launched their proxy war to take over the DRC. US proxy warrior Yoweri Museveni of Uganda set out to build a Tutsi Hema Empire in the Great Lakes region. With his fellow proxy Tutsi warriors in Burundi and Rwanda, they attempted to capture the DRC on behalf of United States imperialism. It was the timely intervention of Zimbabwes defence forces, together with the armies of Angola and Namibia, that defeated the US proxy warriors in the DRC. So one should not be surprised that the architects of the Project for the New American Century hate Zimbabwes President Robert Mugabe with a burning passion. Thus, Bushs call for a regime change in Zimbabwe. Museveni has turned out to be the biggest mass killer of Africans since King Leopold of Belgium. To date, almost five million Congolese have been killed as a result of the Ugandan and Rwandan invasion of the DRC. Museveni has been involved in the deaths of four African Presidents: Melchouir Ndadaye of Burundi, Juvenal Habyarimana of Rwanda, Cyprien Ntaryamira also of Burundi and Laurent Kabila of the DRC. It was Musevenis forces that started the conflict between the Hema and the Lendu in the north-east of the DRC. Prior to Musevenis intervention, these two groups of Africans had been living peacefully with each other for centuries. Now, the European Union, using the United Nations as a cover, has sent troops into the DRC supposedly to impose peace on the Hema and the Lendu. Surprisingly Britain, which gave arms and finance to Uganda and Rwanda to prosecute their invasion of the DRC, has decided to send troops to the DRC as well. While African governments have silently acquiesced to this, Black activists in Britain have vehemently objected to British troops going into the DRC. Responding to the decision to send British troops, the Congolese people have posed the question: How can the snake that once bit us, now claim to be coming to protect us? It is a shame that African governments should meekly and tamely allow this snake back into the DRC. Were they living in the Caribbean, we would have made a calypso on them going something like this: Shame African Presidents Shame, Shame African Presidents Shame, You let the snake in to bite us once Now you let the snake in to bite us again, What as Shame, What a Shame, What a Shame, Shame African Presidents Shame Shame African Presidents Shame. As Ndeh Ntumazah, a former president of the Union of the Peoples of the Cameroon, said: There was a snake in our house. We threw it out through the front door. But we left the window open so the snake came back into our house through the window. It was the Monrovia Group in opposition to the Casablanca Group at the time of the formation of the Organisation of African Unity in 1963 that left the window open for the snake to come into our house again. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana and Pan-Africanist strategist, said: If we do not formulate plans for unity and take active steps to a form political union, we will soon be fighting and warring among ourselves with imperialists and colonialists standing behind the screen and pulling vicious wires, to make us cut each others throats for the sake of their diabolical purposes in Africa. The Monrovia Group opposed Kwame Nkrumahs call for the setting up of a continental government. President Gamal Abdul Nasser of Egypt and King Mohammed of Morocco were in agreement but not those in the Monrovia group. Once again, African leaders have rejected the call for the setting up of a continental government. President Muammar al Ghadafi of Libyas amendment to the charter setting up the African Union for a Continental Union Government was unceremoniously rejected by the Council of Foreign Ministers despite the African peoples desire for the policies of Kwame Nkrumah to be implemented on the continent. In the meantime, the European colonial powers that campaigned against Nkrumahs Union Government proposal are busy consolidating the European with a European President and talk of electing a President for the European Union! If Africa is to be emancipated, neo-liberalism will have to be confronted. Women should commit themselves to their own definition of the renaissance. Let us call on all Africas children in all parts of the world where they are dispersed. This call should be: Return and make your contribution to the re-awakening of Nkwame Nkrumahs African giant. - Winnie Nomzamo Mandela, former wife of Nelson Mandela. This quote is from Winnies speech during the 40th anniversary of the Pan-African Womens Organisation (PAWO) in 1992 in Windhoek, Namibia. Her speech was continuously interrupted by ovations. The ANC government is busy bringing poverty to the masses in South Africa and life expectancy is falling. Moeletsi Mbeki, brother of President Thabo Mbeki, told a seminar at Pretoria University that: The South African state has now internalised the model created by big conglomerates. Kwame Nkrumah warned about accepting foreign tutelage. The ANC has not heeded this warning. So the snake is still in our house. Nepad, poverty causing structural adjustment programmes, selling off state assets to foreigners, these are all policies that the snakes have imposed on Africa. The question that Africans must answer is, how to get the snakes out of our house, especially in the light of the Pnac. Seeking world domination is one thing. The more that peoples and countries world-wide take their trade and their savings out of US dollars, the weaker the dollar becomes, the more problems created for the American economy. It is to Africa that they have turned to halt their coming economic decline. AGOA and Bushs proposed trip to Senegal, Nigeria and South Africa in July is part of the process of softening up African leaders so that American policies can hold sway in Africa. The experience of Iraq should teach Africans that this snake can not be trusted. Their trump card is the neo-colonial Black Americans who are used to sell Americas policies on the continent. Like CIA spy Leon Sullivans African-African summit in Ghana in 1999. Another is planned for Nigeria in July. Bush is due to speak at this event on July 14. Patriotic Africans in Nigeria must take note.
