Tackling IT, Environmental and Socio-economic Problematicities:

- For once think- Anywhere in Uganda it will take a student a period of six month to one year or never at all to get an academic transcript. TRUE?! A transcript. 6 – 12 month. Computer Science E-ducation.

- Imagine for once all students in Uganda know their results – weeks after exams- that is to say they have recorded information (ARCHIVED DATA) but this same data can’t be printed out! Makerere/ Kyambogo Computer Science. Skills, Theory and Practice & UNEMPLOYMENT.

- No- let us say every student in Uganda can go at the district education board, logon in the National E-ducation system with his/her ID and password and then print out his /her result take to authorities to sign and stamp- EASY isn’t it- NO.

- Now this in today’s’ Ugandans get money out of machines, ATM standing for automated teller Machines and send messages using computers, I mean mobile phones a DOS! E-ducation. But print a transcript?

- The Public service commissions- might not know the number of its employers and indeed how much is spent on them OR for that matter- who are the PENSIONERS?! Who is in and out? Ghost employers. Uganda Communication Commission [UCC] it is called. Seminars!

- What are Uganda’s endowments or which are the areas into which computation can play a key role? Environment. Languages cataloguing. Uganda history. Archiving etc. We still don’t know.

- Uganda needs its own digitised Encyclopędia Biologicus Uganda – it will bring in knowledge, appreciation of our endowments, and Millions of shillings – with patent rights on filming, archiving and digitising Uganda Natural History.

- Termites and poor hygiene can permanently be excluded YET still creating the most necessary human resources into the field- on Discs that cost lesser and lesser.

- Nature has its own design; mathematics, art, architecture, - virtually everything that Uganda computer scientist must harness and bring to the understandable and readable algorithm; graphics, texts and sound bytes. A great lot of work to do. Computer software development.

- With the emergence of disk writers and disk video drivers (DVD) Uganda will be the first country south of the equator to have its entire natural history, stored and marketed let say by Uganda Geographical or Natural History society.

- Supported by annually funds from Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and Department of Information (DoI) – Makerere , Kyambogo and all computer enthusiast must embark on such a project.

- Call BBC and ask how much a one minute sequence of a film about Uganda cost?!

- Despite seemingly increased use of computer hard and software- Why has there been no remarkable E-conomic progress in the development of information or rather digitised information technologies in this country?

- Computer software development must target Uganda and African needs – Europe and The USA have enough millions unemployed.

- Uganda Television (UTV) equipment (plus stolen (borrowed) gadgets) and those of Radio Uganda (RU) could be used in this endeavour helped with the department of computer sciences at Makerere.

- For both internal and external UTV and RU national education facilitation- people learn better in there free time- Discovery channel can teach European and American and UTV teach Ugandans about Uganda!

- Does UTV or RU have and type of education programme let alone Discovery type of Environmental or nature films broadcast to the worlds 80 million citizens minus Ugandans?!!

- None of the above will spread out of Kampala at any rate desired to launch Uganda computer into nerds – UNLESS this must be investigated.

- Indeed films and pictures plus sound taken in Uganda before 1970 some are lost forever – we have no National Archiving facilities. Or burnt in liberation and revolutional struggles.

- Some pictures taken in 1800 in Ugandan by European travellers can only be found in British museums who have probably a more relevant need for them than Ugandans: their pride in the civilisation and early missionary work done in native Africa.

- In developed countries computation and digitised information technologies have seen an increase in creating non- computer educated vacancies. It is based on niche areas; web source coding, programming and editing, gaming, graphics and on-line business – the so-called e-business.

- Encyclopędia Biologicus Uganda will most certainly spread out to all schools in Uganda and far across the boarders.

- My own research shows that practical education reduces levels of poverty. Usually practical jobs have a high level of demand- computation is not entirely theoretical is more of practical work involving many manual hours in innovation and creative work.

- Uganda Electro Commission (EC) has got hundreds of digital cameras not used year round. These could be used to take still and moving pictures. Uganda trees, birds, animals divided into (vertebrates, carnivorous,) Reptiles, plants, fishes, insects.

- Students of biology, art, mathematics and history could do examination in gathering names and history of these species. Dr. Kasoro is partly doing this work but not as Encyclopędia Uganda Biologicus!

- Indeed some Local News papers are running weekly editions on local plant use in chemo- therapeutical ailments. Great knowledge.

- Encyclopędia Biologicus Uganda could be sold at Uganda Embassies, Tourist Bureaux, on International flights into Uganda; (BA, EAI, AF etc.) A Norwegian firm was selling a CD will still Uganda pictures 90 Norwegian Crowns

- Is Electro engineering and automatasation anywhere near computation – Uganda’s TRAFFIC LIGHTS.

- In some Uganda villages near nation parks EARLY WARNING SYSTEMS are necessity – what do villages do when a lion or a huge elephants attacks- Computation.

- Virtually all bank security systems in this country are imported or rather manufactured outside Uganda – Industrialisation.

- Optics –Uganda in light almost 13 hours a day the development here must have taken on a new turn with computation. In food preservation, non-heat hygienic handling of bugs and pests.
