This is a very serious move on the part of Yoweri Museveni's NRM military dictatorship. Why can't Yoweri Museveni's UPDF fight their own wars with "KONY"? ... why involve the Langi or for that matter the Iteso civilian population ( who are militarily ill trained to begin with) to confront the so called "LRA rebels" in battle?
Isn't this yet another sinister plan by the NRM military Dictatorship to have fellow citizens slaughtered in this endless war? I am worried ... very worried!

Kampala The UPDF have begun arming the Rhino defence unit, a Lango voluntary group, to fight Kony's Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.
Lira resident district commissioner Charles Egou-Engwau and the LC5 chairman, Franco Ojur, yesterday said the arming of the local force started on Tuesday."We have already armed the force in Dokolo sub-county and the exercise is to be continued in the seven most-affected sub-counties," Egou-Engwau said.He said more volunteers were under-going military training in the 14 sub-counties affected by the LRA rebellion.
The rhino defence unit was launched on August 7 by the State minister for health, Capt. Mike Mukula, at the Uganda Technical College, Lira. Up to 4,000 volunteers from various parts of the Lango have volunteered to join the war against the rebels. The 403 Brigade commander, Lt. Col. Mulindwa, was in charge of the arming exercise.
