This message unfortunately has many contradictions to it.
Replacing a population reduced by the scourge of HIV/AIDS
requires that no more Aids is passed on to the innocent
victims that apparently are to be used as biological weapons
to promote numerical supremacy.
Secondly if the wedding is to take place in Lusaka(Zambia)
me,not see how the Baganda culture will be promoted.I think
the globalisation culture to this point has already scored one
to Buganda's nil.
Anyway keep up the spirit.
Lastly may the couples have bountiful years in their marriage.
Thank you.
Kipenji.

Mengo tells Baganda to get more children

KAMPALA - The Katikkiro of Buganda has urged Baganda to bear more children.

"You should produce more children to replace those robbed by HIV/Aids," Mr Joseph Semwogerere said at an introduction ceremony for Mr Sulaiman Kiggundu Jr. recently.

"But you should also take the responsibility of looking after them."

Kiggundu introduced his fiance, Ms Shakira Chansa Kamanga, to his parents at their home in Kololo in Kampala.

Kiggundu Jr. is the son of the managing director of the defunct Greenland Bank, Dr Sulaiman Kiggundu.

Shakira is the daughter of former Zambian Vice President Reuben Chitandika Kamanga (RIP).

Kiggundu Jr. works with HSC Bank Equator of South Africa as head of the corporate department for sub-Saharan Africa.

The wedding takes place today at the Inter Continental Hotel in Lusaka.
Semwogerere's call has often been echoed by the Luwero district chairman, Hajji Abdul Nadduli.

The Zambian delegation had the MP for Kanyama (Lusaka), Mr Henry Mtonga, an uncle of Shakira; and her mother, Ms Edina Kamanga, among others.

The older Kiggundu appealed to his son not to sell his culture in the name of globalisation.

"We're Muslims and Baganda. You have now acquired education. We commend and bless you for choosing Shakira as your wife but please stick to our culture. We wish you a stable future and stable marriage," he said.
