Aids: It is up to every individualSince the Aids pandemic has already been declared a national disaster, it is a high time individuals took the devil by the horns.
This epidemic has divided us in two groups: One is either infected or affected by the loss of a loved one, or both. If the infection trend continues, we are all going to be infected now or in the near future. This means nobody is safe.
How then can we fight this menace? First, we must all get access to information.
If abstinence, fidelity and condom use is the only formula towards fighting Aids, so be it. We should not allow any group of people, be they religious, traditional or whatever, sabotage a fight so necessary.
Aids-related death could have been minimised had the Government and religious organisations taken a unified stand.
Unfortunately, while the Government preached the three elements, religious bodies preached abstinence and fidelity but not condom use. Where do we go from here?
