Daily News was subversive

The usual saboteurs, malcontents, upstarts, spent forces, idiots, opportunists,
mercenaries, political prostitutes and a whole miserable assortment of American and
British embeds in the local and apartheid media around the world who together make up
the evil coalition against the people of Zimbabwe and their country are at it yet
again.
This time they are falling hard on each other hoping to be rewarded by the Big Satan
in America and the small Satan in Britain for telling the loudest and most damaging
lies about the circumstances surrounding the non- publication of The Daily News and
Daily News on Sunday.
But this time around things are going to be pretty tough for the evil coalition. Not
even its cynical use of weapons of mass deception such as the arrogant BBC, imperial
CNN or imitative SABC will save a day let alone save the Daily News or its vulgar
Sunday version.
The tall order faced by the evil coalition against the people of Zimbabwe and their
country is this: Somehow it must convince first itself, then its creators, then its
donors and then, just imagine, the rest of the civilised and objective-minded world
that for some eight months and eleven days the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe
prevented The Daily News from registering as a media house as required by the law and
that this prevention has led to the failure of The Daily News and The Daily News on
Sunday to publish.
In a desperate campaign to achieve this impossible feat, the evil coalition has been
busy making big fools and idiots out of its membership by telling the shameless lie
that the Government of Zimbabwe has shut down The Daily News.
Attempts to peddle this blatant lie are in full swing inside Zimbabwe, within the
region and at various international fora. Money is being used like confetti at a
wedding party to fund any Zimbabwean fool mercenary enough to lie about their country
not even for any discernable political reasons beyond the love of donor pennies.
Yet the truth is there for all to see, even the politically blind, including those who
are decidedly partisan against Zanu-PF, that The Daily News was not shut down by the
Government but simply fell foul with the law for the simple reason that it was
persistently operating outside the law and was therefore an outlaw no better than a
fugitive from justice.
While the evil coalition is ignoring this truth, choosing instead to resort to the use
of weapons of mass deception, the true story of what really happened is telling itself
on the ground in boardrooms, kombis, trains, supermarkets, hair saloons, bedrooms,
streets, bus stops, classrooms, legal chambers, seminars, conferences, diplomatic
bags, golf courses and dinner tables.
Everybody is asking one and the same question about the non-publication of The Daily
News: Why was the management of ANZ so foolish as to arrogantly and publicly disobey
the law by refusing to register and to have its journalists accredited for eight
months and 12 days?
What legal advice, if any, did the ANZ management rely on and what was the role of the
directors of ANZ, many of whom should know better? And how about the donors, yes the
do-gooders, behind ANZ, those who were giving The Daily News and The Daily News on
Sunday free newsprint, free computers, etc, what was their role in supporting the
illegality of ANZ for eight months and 12 days?
Well-meaning people with no axe to grind, just like you and me, really want to know
the true answers to these and related questions.
People want to know why in the name of Jesus of Nazareth The Daily News wilfully and
publicly defied the law for such a very long time when everyone else, including many
who disagree with the law in question and are currently challenging it in the courts,
complied without making any fuss.
Wonder no more. Forget all the claptrap about freedom of expression coming from the
evil coalition against the people of Zimbabwe and their country; the real reason why
The Daily News did not register is because that paper was subversive, pure and simple.
The Daily News was not, and could not have been, a regular or ordinary newspaper
steeped in or driven by the virtues and values of media freedom nor was it a newspaper
based on business values and ethics of journalism as this field is known and practiced
in the constitutional democracies.
Rather, The Daily News was a weapon of mass deception, which in fact happens to be the
ultimate weapon of mass destruction, deployed by certain diabolic racist interests in
America, Britain and Australia in cahoots with lingering apartheid dreamers in South
Africa to effect regime change in Zimbabwe.
Make no mistake about it, The Daily News was not about informing anyone, presenting an
alternative view or even proffering dissent all which are reasonable and justifiable
in a democratic society. No.
The Daily News was not about democracy and freedom of expression. Far from it. That
paper was about laying the foundation and giving the justification for an
unconstitutional and illegal regime change in Zimbabwe. Full stop.
Just consider the incredible defence offered last week in the Mail and Gurdian by the
in-house lawyer of The Daily News, Gugulethu Moyo, to explain why her paper took the
position to openly defy the law.
She said: "My understanding of constitutional law from my days at the University of
Zimbabwe was that not all law enacted by Parliament is good law." Is she talking about
rule of conscience or rule of law and does she know the difference?
God help the University of Zimbabwe Law School but Gugulethu's ridiculous
understanding is either childish nonsense from a lawyer who should not have passed any
course in constitutional law or is proof of the subversion behind the illegality of
ANZ's refusal to register in terms of the law.
But because her absurd understanding was also shared by the entire management and
directors and supported by ANZ's legal advisers, then surely we are not dealing here
with children who are full of nonsense but with people who are truly subversive.
Yes, it is very true that not all law enacted by Parliament is good law but the
greater and more relevant truth known to all good students of law, let alone legal
practitioners, is that in constitutional democracies under the rule of law the
judgment as to whether a law enacted by Parliament is good or bad can only be made by
the courts.
That is the essence of the rule of law. No citizen or individual has the right to
unilaterally decide what law enacted by Parliament is good or bad and to proceed to
wilfully and openly defy a law judged by the individual to be bad.
Gugulethu's position, which is in fact that of ANZ, is not just ridiculous and absurd
from a constitutional standpoint but, more dangerously, it is anarchist and subversive
in that upholding it would not just undermine the rule of law by overthrowing the role
of the courts under a constitutional separation of powers but would subvert the very
fabric of our Constitution upon which our rights, including that of expression, are
based.
That is why the ANZ position has everything to do with regime change in the form of
providing the social-psychological support for a coup to change not just leadership
and Government but to change our society itself.
That is also why, in spite of making noise about the rule of law, The Daily News was
prepared and ready to disobey the law publicly and arrogantly for eight months and 12
days.
What is the point of preaching the rule of law when you are ready to be the first, and
in this case, the only one to disobey that rule?
Those who act illegally, have no right whatsoever to seek legal protection. The law is
there to protect the lawful and punish the lawless.
We would make a mockery of the rule of law in Zimbabwe if we were to be so foolish or
fearful as to allow people who acted illegally and in a brazen way for eight months
and 12 days to profit from that illegality, especially in view of the fact that the
purpose of the illegality in question was subversive.
Unmasking the unCommonwealth
Now that we know there's no wealth in common between Bliars in Britain and the
Kangaroos in Australia on the one hand, and the developing countries historically
brutalised and dehumanised by British colonialism on the other hand, is there really
any reason why Zimbabweans should risk losing some of the gains of both the Second and
Third Chimurengas just to get an invitation to go to Abuja?
Bliar and Howard have destroyed the Commonwealth, used crude racism to turn this
previously promising neo-colonial club into a worthless single-country talkshop where
everything is about Zimbabwe and President Mugabe for the sole purpose of reversing
the fast-track land reform programme. Please. Let Bliar and Howard go to hell while we
prepare for the most promising rainy season in years. Going to Abuja will assist the
evil coalition against Zimbabweans and their country.
Bury the parallel economy with bearer cheques
Now that the public has embraced the hugely successful bearer's cheques, the time has
come to remind economic saboteurs in our midst that there is absolutely no case for
having higher denominations whose result would push inflation beyond the skies by
giving unscrupulous dealers in the parallel economy a currency of illegal convenience
outside the formal sector.
We have paid enough wages to support the parallel economy, let us now use the bearer
cheque to bury the parallel economy.
George in the bushes
Maybe you are not following events in paranoid America but, like his father after the
Gulf War, George Junior is in the bushes of not knowing whether he is coming or going.
In the campaign for the disputed presidential elections he won with the vote of a
Supreme Court packed with judges from his Republican party, George said not once or
twice but many times on camera, that he was opposed to nation building in Third World
countries and that he did not want America to be the policeman of the world.
Well, he must tell that to the Iraqis and the forgotten lot in Afghanistan before
facing American voters who are ready to boot him out because of his politics of
deception.
If we were all like the Warriors
It sure would be very nice if we all could have the spirit of the Warriors. We would
all be winners and our country would be the kind of place it deserves to be. The
Warriors have sure done our country proud and tomorrow they will be at the National
Sports Stadium flying our national colours and winning for Zimbabwe.
The least we can do is to support them not just in our numbers but also in our spirits
and from our pockets. Score Warriors!
