Ugandan state minister survives death in ambush by warriors

KAMPALA, Oct. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Ugandan Minister of State for Economic in the Office of President Omwony Ojwok survived death onFriday afternoon when he entered ambush by Matheniko warriors along Nakapiripirit-Moroto road, northeastern Uganda, Radio Ugandareported on Saturday.
An unspecified number of Karimojong warriors Friday afternoon attacked a convoy of vehicles in which Ojwok was traveling along the Nakapiripirit-Moroto road.
The driver of the Police Patrol vehicle which was escorting theconvoy was injured after being shot in the jaw.
Others in the convoy included the Nakapiripirit resident district commissioner, district chairman and the district police commander.
The attackers were identified as warriors from the Matheniko ethnic groups, the radio added. Enditem
