Man Hacks Toddler

A man on Tuesday hacked to death his
two-and-a-half-year old cousin in Mbuya zone II, Kampala.
Didas Mbakiza
alighted from a bus in the city, bought a machete before hiring a boda-boda to
take him to his uncle�s residence where he killed Kwesiga.
Mbakiza also
inflicted multiple head injuries on to the child�s mother before trying to flee.
However, his attempt to run was cut short by a mob that stoned him to death.
Kampala CID chief Moses Sakira said Mbakiza was an employee of the Uganda
Electricity Board, Rukungiri branch.
Sakira said the deceased�s mother was
admitted in Mulago Hospital.
Jinja Road Police commander Pius Mutabaze said
investigations were under way to establish Mbakiza�s state of mind.
�What we
have gathered indicate that the man could have been frustrated,� Mutabaze said.
He said information available indicated that Mbakiza had been transferred to
Arua but declined to honour the transfer.

Byekwaso said it was clear that the assailant�s intention was to commit a
murder.
