Kezimbira,I personally would put all the political rhetoric aside and still
snub the AAI for this inopportune and base method they used to arrive
at even suggesting Mu7 for this award.If they seriously took all the epidemiological facts about the HIV/AIDS scourge in Uganda,Mu7 if anything deserves to be arraigned before the International Court of Justice to answer for committing crimes against Humanity by using HIV/
AIDS as a weapon to decimate Ugandans.
What is happening here which fortunately never happened with the Bush
and Blair duo regarding their names being put forward for the Nobel Prize
for Peace is what the AAI in their wisdom of collective ignorance is rewarding Mu7 for.
I therefore believe Ugandans who have had their loved ones being intentionally put to harms' way by Mu7's mauruding infected"liberators"
are indeed very saddened by this very callous act of the neo-imperialist
Organizations like AAI.
The fight against HIV/AIDS was a truimph for the people of Uganda against Mu7 and his heinious methods,who had to join hands with Noeline Kereeba to mobilize themselves against Mu7's biological warfare.
Organizations like the AAI,to many appear to be altruistic but in reality
they are the agents of highhanded and very subtle forms of colonialism
that the uninitiated minds find difficult to decipher.
Mugisha has her rights to tackle this from the political angle,but the reality is that Mu7 really derseves the Human rights court at den Haag
than this veneer of insult under the aegis of recognition of his role in helping Uganda overcome the HIV/AIDS scourge.
Soon we shall see other mass murderers being awarded medals of
recognition for actions that are at variance with common human decorum
and we shall have nothing to say as long as we applaud these neocolonial agencies woodwinking us.

KAMPALA � An American-based Reform Agenda activist is fighting to block an Aids award to President Yoweri Museveni.
The Africa-America Institute (AAI) has lined up Mr Museveni for an award in recognition of his fight against HIV/Aids in Uganda.
Ms Anne Mugisha, based in Washington, D.C., has written to the Institute protesting the award.
The Institute plans to award Museveni alongside Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki on November 4 at the United Nations in New York.
�So while AAI has been true to their mission of developing the next generation of leaders in Kenya, they remain happily ensconced with the dinosaurs of Uganda,� Mugisha said in the statement also emailed to The Monitor yesterday.
�I am among those who believe that the fight against HIV/Aids was not President Museveni�s personal battle but rather a collective battle of the people of Uganda.�
Mugisha, who also heads a lobby group RESPOND Uganda in the United States, said Museveni has been on record stigmatising people living with HIV/Aids.
She said, quoting a 2001 presidential interview with Time newsmagazine in which Museveni said his closest rival in that year�s presidential elections, Col. Kizza Besigye, had Aids.
She also said it was ironical for Museveni to be recognised along with Kibaki who led Kenya through a democratic transition.
State House shrugged off Reform Agenda�s latest scheme, saying the President deserves the award.
�The whole world is recognising what President Museveni has done. If [Reform Agenda] think they can beat him down, it is a shame. The President is only going up and up. Actually it is bankruptcy completely,� the President�s Press Secretary, Ms Mary Okurut, said yesterday.
�It is good when they talk like that, it is exposing who they are. To dismiss the efforts that the world recognises� she said.
She said she was aware of an award for Museveni, but the American group was yet to email State House with the details.
Mugisha questioned America�s �studied silence� on the transition process in Uganda and also expressed scepticism toward the transition committee recently set up by the President.
