The Commonwealth Countries
League is a non-governmental organisation with members
throughout the Commonwealth. The CCL was founded, in 1925, by a
group of women from many of the countries which make up today's
Commonwealth. The objectives were to secure equality of liberties,
status and opportunities between men and women and to promote mutual
understanding throughout the Commonwealth. It welcomes both men and
women as members. The CCL is non-party but promotes women�s
political and social education and links women�s organisations
throughout the Commonwealth.
