Mr. Walker,
I see that you still have a hardtime dealing with stark reality. But pray tell, how and why is my opinion pathetic and defeatist?
Do you sincerely believe that your pan-Africanism can ever take root in Africa before democracy and federalism do? Do you also believe that it is a good idea to put the horse before a cart?
Engineers like use things such as Gantt Charts and to do critical path analysis (cpa) when things do not work as expected or when they are planning a project. Among other things, CPA allows them to identify which tasks must be completed on time for the project to be completed on time. it allows them to sequence tasks in a way that ensures success.
E.g. if one is building a house, one cannot. or should not start on the roof before the foundation is completed and the wall have gone up, etc. You can't learn to read Russian before you master the alphabet, etc. It is not a good idea to start learning calculus befor mastering algerbra, etc. These simplistic, if commonsense examples powerfully demonstrates the imporance of properly sequencing tasks and or events. The cruc of the matter is that some activities are dependent on other activities being completed first.
The same principles hold for development, political, socio-economic, or otherwise.
You can save yourself a lot of grief and may even become practical if you pick up a copy of Stanley E. Portny 2000 Project Management for Dummies, or something like it.
Or, you can continue yelling "Revolution!" to your heart's content.

ps: have you ever wondered why indigenous Africans, other than a few in academia and some conmen, spend little or no time on pan-Africanism?
