Dutch minister advises on Kony--New vision

The Dutch minister for development cooperation, Agnes van Ardenne, has called for a face-to-face meeting between President Yoweri Museveni and rebel leader Joseph Kony, on how to end the northern insurgency.
Ardenne , during the visit to Gulu on Wednesday, advocated for Uganda�s return to full multiparty politics, saying although the one-party system under the Movement helped to re-unite the country, it was not sustainable.
�It seems there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I have heard testimonies of a vicious cycle of violence, heard about abductions, killings...there are more conflicts instead of containing them,� Ardenne told a meeting of civil society organisations in Gulu at St. Monica�s Tailoring School.
She said, �The international community should bring the two parties together. At least we should bring President Museveni and Kony to a negotiating table. in that way, we can achieve peace.�
