MASAKA - The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo
has asked Christians to pray for the church in the USA and Canada where homosexuality
is acceptable as normal and holy.

Nkoyoyo who returned on October 22 from Britain to attend an Anglican bishops'
meeting, drove straight to Masaka with his wife Ruth Nkoyoyo to bid farewell to the
Diocese of West Buganda ahead of his retirement early next year.

During the service at St. John's Church Kijjabwemi in Masaka municipality Rt.
Rev. Nkoyoyo said that Christianity in America and Canada had lost direction. He said
that during the bishops meeting in UK, the church in the US and Canada upheld its
support for homosexuality.

He said the Bishops from Africa and Asia had remained united in their
condemnation of homosexuality.

He also said that whereas in Africa and Asia a divorced priest cannot be made a
bishop, in America it is possible to concentrate a homosexual with a fellow man as his
wife.

He asked all Christians in Uganda to pray for the Americans and Canadians. He
contributed one million shillings towards the purchase of the official car for the
Bishop of West Buganda Rt. Rev. Dr. Keefa Ssemakula Kamya.
