"The LRA should take the cry for peace by everybody, the amnesty law and the improving relationship between Uganda and Sudan to talk peace with the government of Uganda and end this brutal war," said Aswa MP Reagan Okumu. "
Dennis Lifton writes
"The PPT, led by former Premier Prime Minister Eriya Kategaya, is now a defunct body languishing in Kampala without a new chairman and no direction."

" Likewise the sincerity of the government in negotiating is crucial to making peace a reality. The actions and words of President Museveni continue to reflect and dictate the attitude of the government.

Moses writes " The MP also told the rebels of the Lord's Resistance Army to make their agenda clear if they want to talk peace with government."
The so called LRA rebels cannot talk peace with the dictatorship in Kampala if and when the military dictatorship in Kampala, as Dennise Lifton has so eloquently pointed out, is not really enthused let alone interested in peace talks with the rebels to begin with.
"Omoro MP Jacob Oulanyah said that the initiative to end the war should come from the Acholi because they are the ones feeling the brunt of the war.
This is an erroneous statement ... the initiative to end the war in Northern and now a greater part of Eastern Uganda must be taken by Yoweri Museveni's Military dictatorship.
..It is the "government" in charge in Kampala which should explore ways.... Rather means to protect the people of Uganda...
.... if in an event the government cannot protect the people of Uganda (as demonstrated in throughout this 18 years of Museveni Misrule and wars) it becomes the prime responsibility of the "Government" to use other peaceful means to bring the conflict(s) (now including engulfing greater parts of Tesoland) to a speedy end .
