LANGO elders have asked the Lango Parliamentary Group to resign from Parliament in protest over the Government's inability to protect the Langi from the LRA rebels.
Hajji Tiffu Ogut submitted the demand to state minister for defence Ruth Nankabirwa during a security meeting at Lira Coronation Park recently.
He advised the councils of Lira and Apac to do likewise.
Ogut said at least 6,000 people have been killed, displaced, maimed or abducted.
He told participants, including MP Cecilia Ogwal (right)that the Langi rejected the rebellion long ago but the Government was not giving them protection from Kony's reprisals.
Nankabirwa regretted the loss of innocent lives, adding that the rebels did not target only the Langi.
