Choir members of All Saints Church, Nakasero, on Friday donated blankets and old clothes worth Shs 3.5 million to the people displaced by war in northern Uganda.
The items were given to Northern Uganda, Kitgum, and Lango dioceses.
Kampala Diocesan Treasurer Rev. Fred Komunda, who represented the Church of Uganda Archbishop, thanked the choir members for the brotherly and Christian spirit towards the suffering people in northern Uganda.
"We request that this war be stopped. War does not pay, does not benefit anyone, it never heals," Komunda said.
The Chaplain of Luzira Prison, Church of Uganda, Rev. Johnson Gakumba received the donations on behalf of the clergy of northern.
Woman MP for Hoima district and leader of the choir, Beatrice Byenkya, said that on September 21 the group launched their CD called Singing With the Spirit whose proceeds go towards helping the displaced people in the north.
