The head of the royals in Buganda, Ssabalagira Moses Kayima, will refer the simmering political row among the royals to Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II, reports Josephine Maseruka.

The Kabaka is in London on official visit.

Kayima was appointed by the Kabaka a few weeks ago to replace Ssabalagira John Kanakulya.

He is yet to be officially initiated into his new office although he can take official decisions.

"Being new on the job I have to wait until the Kabaka returns to declare the official stand," he said.

Kayima said it was wrong for Prince Edward Kimbugwe, with only 240 members, to claim to represent the stand of Baganda royals who are over 20,000.

The row was sparked off by Prince Kimbugwe last week when he told a press conference that Baganda royals wanted President Yoweri Museveni to be elected for another term to the chagrin of other royals.
