Man chops off his
genitals after marriage row Standard Team
A 20-year-old man is fighting for his
life at Busia District Hospital when he chopped off his private
parts after his parents refused him to marry.
Stephen Ongale who hails from Teso
District chopped off his right testicle after his parents refused
the wife of his choice.
Speaking to the East African
Standard from his hospital bed, Ongale said his week-old wife
was chased away from their homestead by his parents who demanded
that he marry a girl from the Teso community.
"My wife is a Luhya from Nambale and my
parents sent her away demanding that I marry a girl from Abikai
whom I have never come across," said Ongale.
The hospital’s Medical Superintendent,
Dr Godrick Onyango said Ongale used a blunt object to chop off his
private parts inflicting severe injuries which resulted in serious
bleeding.
He, however, said Ongale was taken to
theatre where some stitching was done and later was admitted to
the hospital.
Onyango said the victim was brave
enough to carry his chopped testicle for over 15 km to the
hospital.
