KAMPALA - The Uganda Peoples Congress has predicted doom if President Museveni persists on seeking a third term.
Dr James Rwanyarare, a senior UPC official, yesterday advised Mr Museveni to "cut his losses and abandon the life presidency [project] or else Uganda will sink into such violent apocalypse that he [Museveni] will abandon his dream in disgrace. The choice is his".
He was speaking at the party's weekly media briefing at Uganda House. Rwanyarare cited a trend of violent political events, which he said started with the brutality unleashed on the young democrats at a leadership seminar in Kabale recently.
"He said there is no law which bars any peaceful assembly. Rwanyarare prayed to God to enable Museveni see light and quit.
