Museveni should develop all areas
In an article that appeared in The Monitor, January 13, President Museveni is reported to have stated that he hates poor people.
âIt is not good to stay among poor people because it is like a contagious disease,â he reportedly said. The President also claimed that he had transformed his home county of Nyabushozi into
a âmodern areaâ compared to other parts of the country.
If these statements are indeed true, Museveni presents himself as arrogant and inconsiderate.
It is one thing to hate poverty but to hate poor people is an attitude unworthy of a president. The fact that he has developed his home area while neglecting other parts of Uganda is a clear reason for him to go come 2006. Ugandans need a leader who respects and empowers them.
