Bob Owor,
"I submit that this is truely the test of love while hoping that I do not have to prove the statement in person because I am as scared as anyone to make this proof."
You made my day bro.!
I was keen at reading you; and was convinced you really would die for a lover. But then when I came to the above quote, the mental picture my mind had constructed of you, went out the window. Lets agree that it ain't easy to die, not when you got to accept to, and above all, not when it is about a lover so he/she lives! Of course one can die for a lover. But only when one is trying to, in most cases, save her/him for herself/himself without, in the process, cognitive awareness of his/her own aparent demise, and in one's mind, for eternity. And as this may occur, the demise is Not that one is to leave her/him, the loved one, to live, as a demonstration of love. Love is all about until death do us apart, but not about until death do me alone for you, or until death do you alone for me; nether is it about until death do us together for one another. Of course this last one may happened, but it ain't there in the vocabulary of love. Therefore, that one should d
ie for a
lover so the lover lives ain't about love at all!
This statement therefore that: "If a gunman or murderer should appear and I should be able to say instead of you dying for whatever reason let me be killed instead that
you may live and I should indeed die for you; then and only then is true and perfect love clearly not only said but also demonstrated."
you may live and I should indeed die for you; then and only then is true and perfect love clearly not only said but also demonstrated."
and: "........The ultimate test however is the willingness to
lay down one's life for another." are may be true, depending on how one looks at it. In most cases, and in my understanding, a lover would not want to die so her/his other half lives. A lover may put her/his life on the line in the process of saving a loved one if that loved one happened to be in danger that threaten the life of that loved one, and in the process, as was mentioned, he/she may indeed die out of accident, or get killed.

Nonetheless, I am not the writer; I just forwarded it. You didn't say that, but I thought I should point that out.
All the best,

My dear poet,
Your words are beautiful but they have not captured the true meaning of
love and test of love. I submit once and for all that the true meaning
and test of love is the total willingness to die for another. That is
the ultimate love.
If a gunman or murderer should appear and I should be able to say
instead of you dying for whatever reason let me be killed instead that
you may live and I should indeed die for you; then and only then is true
and perfect love clearly not only said but also demonstrated.
Everything else may be, may be may be true, the words may be colorful,
the romance wonderful. The ultimate test however is the willingness to
lay down one's life for another.
That is something only a few people are known to have done beginning
with only One. People may preach virtues, magic words, new books, PHDs,< BR>etc but ask them the true test of love i.e love unto death and suffering
for another and they will run away never to be seen anywhere near the
pain and sorrow.
I submit that this is truely the test of love while hoping that I do not
have to prove the statement in person because I am as scared as anyone
to make this proof.
Best regards
Steven

To My Friends Who Are...MARRIED
Love is not about "it's your fault.", but "I'm sorry." Not "where are
you?", but "I'm right here.", Not "how could you?", but "I understand."
Not "I wish you were.", but "I'm thankful you are."
To My Friends Who Are...ENGAGED
The true measure of compatibility is not the years spent together but
how good you are for each other.
To My Friends Who Are...NOT SO SINGLE
Love isn't about becoming somebody else's "perfect person." It's about
finding someone who helps you become the best p erson you can be.
To My Friends Who Are...HEARTBROKEN
Heartbreaks last as long as you want and cut deep as you allow them to
go. The challenge is not how to survive heartbreaks but to learn from
them.
To My Friends Who Are...NAIVE
How to be in love: Fall but! don't stumble, be consistent but not too
persistent, share and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand,
and get hurt but never keep the pain.
To My Friends Who Are...SEARCHING
True love cannot be found where it does not truly exist, nor can it be
hidden where it truly does. Love is magic. The more we hide it, the more
it shows; the more you hold it, the more it grows.
To My Friends Who Are...PLAYBOY/GIRL TYPES
Never say "I love you" if you don't care. Never talk about feelings if
they aren't there. Never touch a life if you mean to break a heart.
Never look in the eye when what you do is lie. The cruelest thing a you
can do to someone is to l et them fall in love when you don't intend to
catch their fall.
To My Friends Who Are...POSSESSIVE
It breaks your heart to see the one you love happy with someone else but
it's more painful to know that the one you love is unhappy with you.
To My Friends Who Are...AFRAID TO CONFESS
Love hurts when you break up with someone. It hurts even more when
someone breaks up with you. But love hurts the most when the person you
love has no idea how you feel.
To My Friends Who Are...STILL HOLDING ON
A sad thing about life is that when you meet someone who means a lot to
you, only to find out in the end that it was never bound to be and we
just have to let go.
To My Friends Who Are... SINGLE Love is like a butterfly. The more you
chase it, the more it eludes you. But if you just let it fly, it would
come to you when you least expect it. Love can make you happy but often
times it hurts, but love's only special when you give i t to someone who
is worth it. So take your time and choose the best!
Urs, Awol
