LIGHT Force International based in the United Kingdom has initiated a poultry and mushroom project worth millions of shillings to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Lira district.The project will be implemented by women IDPs who have abandon their homes and settled in camps in Lira municipality.
The project is meant to increase the household income for IDPs and to improve in the camps.A senior manager of Light Force International based in Lira town, Rev.Faustiano Aniap says that the project is geared towards eradicatingrampant poverty among the IDPs community and improvement of the living conditions of IDPs in various camps.
He added that the project is also aimed at promoting sustainable human development amongst the IDPs in the whole district.He advised the affected women to support the project in order to have great financial returns to look after their families and especially the vulnerable people like the elderly and women in the camps.
