The UPDF spokesman in the region, 2nd Lt Chris Magezi, told IRIN from Lira town that the scale the attack was unusual. "They donât usually attack in such a large group and they rarely use these big machine guns and mortar bombs," he said. "They must have amassed new supplies from somewhere."
Most likely from the UPDF itself. Otherwise the UPDF will have to explain to the world and citizens of Uganda as to how "rebels" can transport big heavy machine guns and mortar bombs all the way from Sudan undetected by the UPDF.
