NEW REBEL AMBUSH
The rebels of the LRA (lordâs Resistance Army) yesterday killed two young students in North Uganda. As reported by MISNA sources, the ambush was conducted in the location of Pawidi, 35km east of Kitgum, along the road that takes to Namokora.
The victims were shot dead in the late afternoon, while travelling on their bicycles. Meanwhile, there is still deep indignation throughout the district of Lira over the massacre perpetrated by the rebels on Wednesday night in the Abia camp. A suffrage mass was celebrated for the victims this morning at 6:45a.m. in the Ngeta parish, in the extreme northern outskirts of Lira.
The Holy Mass, presided by Comboni Father Luigi Polini and celebrated together with his confreres, was attended also by the nuns and catechists that carry out the pastoral service in the parish.
