CAR-BOMB IN BAGHDAD: 103 DEAD IN 24 HOURS
A total of 103 dead in 24 hours: this is the toll, which could possibly rise, of two suicide attacks against structures of the Iraqi security forces. This morning at 7:40a.m. local time, a car loaded with 200kilos of explosive and artillery bullets was triggered by a suicide-bomber outside the recruitment centre of the headquarters of the new Iraqi armed forces in Baghdad, in the zone of the old airport of Al Muthana. In that moment hundreds of people were lined up to enrol.
At least 47 people were killed and 35 wounded in the blast. According to American military sources, the attack was specifically aimed at striking Iraqi citizens.
Yesterday in Iskandariya, a city inhabited prevalently by Shiite Muslims and around 40km south of the capital, another car-bomb blasted outside the police station, while another recruit selection was underway. The explosion killed 55 people and wounded 150; part of the police station and nearby tribunal were destroyed.

"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the state."
- Dr. Joseph M. Goebbels - Hitler's propaganda minister
