KITGUM: REBEL AMBUSH AND ABDUCTIONS
The rebels of the LRA (lordâs Resistance Army) ambushed a truck in the North Ugandan district of Kitgum. As referred by MISNA sources, the episode occurred last Friday at around 11:00a.m. local time in the location of Paibwor, around 6km north of Kitgum, along the road to Mucwini. After opening fire and wounding an unconfirmed number of civilians, the rebels set fire to the vehicle. The same sources referred that the driver of the truck died in hospital on Saturday from serious injuries. In these hours our agency gathered the testimonies of some survivors that spoke of numerous aggressions, looting and abductions of youths, perpetrated over the past 48 hours in the villages near Kitgum Matidi, around 20km east of Kitgum, along the road to Namokora. North Uganda is infested with rebels of the LRA, the movement that since 1980 has perpetrated unspeakable violations against the civil population.

"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the state."
- Dr. Joseph M. Goebbels - Hitler's propaganda minister
