"SECURITY has been restored in your homes!
Go and prepare your gardens for the new planting season because the rains are coming next month," the UPDF spokesperson, Maj. Shaban Bantariza recently assured the internally displaced people (IDPs).Following fresh and heavy deployment, the Uganda People's Defence Forces and the Arrow Group are urging thousands of people who fled the Lord's Resistance Army terror in June 2003 to return home.
"Security in Teso is guaranteed. It is now 98% fine."We have formed a huge mobile force of the UPDF assisted by wananchi in Teso with the Arrow Group and those in Lango with the Amuka Militia," Bantariza said.
The Amuka chairperson, Mike Mukula, also appealed to the IDPs to go home."Security has been restored in Teso. Our people should go home and prepare their gardens for the March rains so that they can plant," Mukula said.
"The Government is planning to give them seeds and other forms of assistance so that they can reorganise their lives again," he said."Kony will soon be a thing of the past," Bantariza said.
"The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth becomes the greatest enemy of the state."
- Dr. Joseph M. Goebbels - Hitler's propaganda minister
