Muagnda wange Ssenyange, I did not know that UPC "refused" to call a truth and reconciliation commission like the one in South Africa.. I personally believe that it would be a welcome development, though I must caution that there is one vital ingredient missing for it to work, which is equal rights for all. The South African truth and reconciliation occurred after the end of apartheid where certain people considered themselves better than others or that the opinions of others were not important and could not be expressed in a democratic environment which honoured the rights and freedoms of all citizens.
