Uganda will not, in the foreseeable future, have the requisite number of aircraft, all-terrain vehicles, weapons, and even boots (boots, for chrissake), to bring down the Kony rebellion by force. I disagree with this view.Kony and his murderous gang has survived this long for two main reasons.
1.Sudan has trained, armed and sheltered this group for a number of years.
2.Uganda has not been allowed to spend more than 1.9% of its G.D.P on Defence.
Third but not normally well known has been the support of the murderers by some politicians from the north.
And yes the army has confronted and defeated other groups. The army put down the A.D.F rebellion in Kasese and the U.P.A insurgency in Teso.Less known groups like the Buseruka rebels, the Itongwa group, Foba terrorists, the Amon Bazira group, the Peter Otai rebels, the Semmuju gang and the Sam Luweero group were similary defeated.
Although more murderous than these groups the L.R.A days are equally numbered.they will be defeated.
