Dont sell off Government Printer

SIR I was greatly heartened when I read in The New Vision that MP Maj Bright Rwamirama had objected to the selling off of the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC), commonly known as the Government Printer. While I am aware of the merits of privatisation, I suspect that it has now become an overwhelming craze for the Government to divest itself of everything, merely to show how innocent it is from graft and related evils.
A look at the UPPC Statute, 1992 will reveal that some of UPPCs obligations include printing and publishing all government legislations and documents, acting as chief adviser to Government on all printing and publishing matters and undertaking security printing. We cant sacrifice everything at the altar of efficiency and the anti-corruption war.

Has the NRM gone bonkers to sell off the Government Printer or are the Twaliires simply determined to snatch all of Uganda's assets for a song (while they still can)?
