PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL!

We hope this email finds you in the very best of health and revolutionary spirits. I am sending you this email from Soweto in Azania (South Africa).
I am here because the Pan-Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC), with whom we have worked for more than 37 years, has asked me to assist it in its 2004 Presidential and Provincial Elections Campaign. The Election will be held on 14 April 2004. As you are perhaps aware, I had the honor and privilege to assist PAC in its 2000 Municipal Government Elections Campaign.
From what I have seen, heard and read since my arrival in Azania on 24 March, the Pan-Africanist Congress of Azania, under the new and vibrant leadership of Dr. Motsoko Pheko, who serves as the President of PAC, a Member of Parliament, and PACâs Presidential Candidate, is on the ground, on the move, and growing in membership and electoral strength.
PAC, and its constituent organizations, have developed and are actively implementing their 2004 Programme of Action whose main objective is party building, recruitment, ideological education, and cadre development.  This year-long offensive includes the organization of the following and other celebrations in every ward, branch, region, municipality and province in Azania: Africa History Week in February, Sobukwe Day on Feb 28th, International Womenâs Day on March 8th, African Liberation Day on May 25th, Soweto National Uprising on June 16th, Heroes Day on July 31st, and Azanian Peoples Liberation Army (APLA) Day on September 11th.
On March 21st, PAC celebrated the 44th anniversary of the Sharpeville Massacre under the theme âReparations for ALLâ in our lifetime. PAC once again declared that the vicious and inhuman apartheid system was and is a crime against humanity. To undue the crimes and destruction made by settler colonialism and apartheid, PAC demands reparations and compensation for all Azanians for all of their sufferings under slavery, colonialism, and apartheid. PAC demands land for the landless; just compensation for the labor which was extorted under slavery, colonialism and apartheid; the cancellation of all apartheid debts; free education from pre-school to university; unemployment allowance, a strong public sector and state control of public assets;  an end to the privatization of water and electricity; equitable redistribution of Azaniaâs wealth, free health care for all, especially for those who are afflicted with HIV/AIDS, and freedom for all political prisoners and prisoners of war, especially those who still languish in South African prisons, ten years after all political prisoners were to be freed.
On April 10, tens of thousands of PAC members and supporters will converge on Jabulani Amphitheatre in Soweto to celebrate â45 Years of Pan African Excellence as advocated by PACâ. Those of you who can come are invited to join PAC in Soweto on 10 April. Those of you who can not come are invited to send a message of solidarity.
Four days later, on April 14th, PAC members and supporters will turnout to vote in record numbers in the 2004 Presidential and Provincial Elections Campaign. PACâs 2004 Election Theme is âSodla Sonke â Seize the Moment.â
From what I have seen, heard and read since my arrival in Azania, PAC has been waging a nation-wide, grass-root, guerrilla election campaign, equal to or better than most of the progressive and independent elections campaigns that I have participated in the last 40 years. As a small and poor opposition party, PAC cannot wage a traditional election campaign, or match the tens of millions of dollars that have poured, and continue to pour, into ANCâs election coffers from domestic and foreign corporations, organizations and governments, especially from the United States and Britain.
In order to be more visible on the ground, and to seize this historic moment and victory, PAC needs to increase and intensify its organizational presence and campaign visibility on the ground by strategically deploying a minimum of 130 full-time campaign workers at key transportation stops and sites and in key voting districts for the last ten days of the campaign. These key transportation sites and voting districts have been identified, nationwide. This 10-day offensive will cost a minimum of $25,000, to pay for the following:

(a)  1.3 million additional PAC Elections Leaflets (more if we use newsprint), at a cost of $10,000;
(b)  Gas for 26 vehicles, at a cost of $6,500;
(c)  130 Full-time Sodla Sonke Brigade Workers, at a cost of $7,500; and
(d)  260 PAC & APLA T-Shirts, at a cost of $1,000.
PAC needs, deserves, and asks for your help!
Please donate $100, or whatever amount you can afford, to PACâs 2004 Presidential and Provincial Election Campaign, and help us recruit an additional 249 people who will make a $100 donation as well. Your prompt attention to this request would be greatly appreciated.  Remember, the elections will be held on 14 April, and these last ten days are critical to PACâs efforts.

PAC will also participate in the Municipal Government Election Campaign which is scheduled for the fall of 2005. They will need, and request your assistance then as well.
Kwame Ture never tired of saying, that the greatest crime that anyone could commit is the crime of being ungrateful.
African people throughout the world can never be ungrateful to PAC for their sterling and heroic struggle, sacrifice and suffering, and for the their contributions to the National Liberation Struggle in Azania, and the larger Pan-African, socialist and peace movements through Africa, the African Diaspora and the world.
PAC, its constituent organizations and cadre, and the heroic and struggling people of Soweto and Azania will never be ungrateful for what ever assistance, donations, and messages of solidarity that you can send.
Thank you in advance for any and all assistance that you can give.
