DP, Mov’t Supporters protest MP’s Wedding

By Dismus Buregyeya

MOVEMENT supporters in Bukomansimbi, Masaka, have urged the district secretary for finance, William Ssalongo Kalumba, not to give away in marriage his 20-year-old daughter to the area MP, Morris Kagimu.

Kagimu, a staunch DP supporter is planning to wed Rebecca Kalumba, a daughter of the Movement die-hard.

Kagimu said he was also facing pressure from the multypartists who asked him not to go ahead with the wedding.

“I can’t believe this. The DP side is against my wedding plans. The Movement is also raising dust.

When will they learn to have mature politics? Marrying from the Movement has nothing to do with politics. It is a private affair,” he said.

Movement supporters from Bukamansimbi said it was a political blunder for Kagimu to marry a daughter of a movement official.

Kalumba said Kagimu has been dating Rebecca, a student a Kako Secondary School, for two years.

He said he set tough conditions for Kagimu who beat them all.
