UGANDA People's Congress (UPC) presidential policy commission chairman Dr. James
Rwanyarare yesterday said the party would fight President Yoweri Museveni out of power.
Rwanyarare told journalists that Museveni had refused to leave power and was therefore
giving them cause to oust him.
"Ugandans will fight him with all means at their disposal. We have the resolve, we
have the means, he has given us the cause," he said during the UPC weekly press
conference in Kampala.
Rwanyarare was non-committal on whether he was asking Ugandans to take up arms.

"We are a political organisation wanting political change. There are many among us who
would want to take up arms, but we have been reining them," he said.
Rwanyarare further said Museveni had shelved the discussions on the roadmap to
multiparty democracy and was now pushing for a life presidency through the proposed
referendum on political systems.
