Lets Chat: with David Kibirige

Okay. And press reports yesterday revealed something new about the trends of the oldest profession prostitution. It showed that sex workers no longer hang around the cold streets of Kampala looking for business. They have upgraded to utilising the high-tech of the mobile phones. And its now all made simpler. All you have to do is give them or their pimps (connectors) a call, describing the colour and size of girl you like. And lo! She will be delivered to you in a moment. And with that, the days of mosquitoes biting both the sex workers and their clients are over. I think these girls are doing a good job now. The thousands of people employed in the mobile phone network providers should know that sex workers are indirectly their employers. I will not be like Betty Kamya who praised the services of these people just to turn round and denounce her statements because of the pressure from the public. I think Betty feared that my good friend Mary Karooro would accuse her of having ekimansulo of the mouth. Please Mary, do not say I have ekimansulo of the pen or fingers since these are what I used to type this chat. I give respect where it is due. Kampala alone has more than one hundred lodges in the names of hotels. We should not be like the proverbial ostrich which, buries its head in the sand to avoid seeing the enemy. Who do you think are the people who go to these lodges? And do you know the number of people who go to these lodges? And do you know the number of people employed by the condom distribution companies? And if you want to annoy Ssabagabe Yoweri Museveni, then say bad things about boda boda people. If you think I am joking, go and ask mayor John Ssebaana Kizito what it means to annoy Museveni. And do you know the sex calls are saving this country millions of dollars by using phones instead of standing along streets. Do you know how much the country spends on treating malaria patients? We all know mosquitoes cause malaria. Now that they do not stand anywhere, they are safe from mosquito bites. These mosquitoes will die of hunger and there will be no need to use DDT. And the MP John Ken Lukyamuzi will not have to fight with Brig. Jim Muhwezi over DDT. Long live sex workers the beacons of peace. |
