My two cents: I strongly believe, and I have stated this elsewhere, that it is very essential to PREVENT conflicts in Africa, other then wait for conflicts to emerge ...and then rush with the so called African Peacekeeping force, as envisioned by Bush to put out the "fires" so to say.
Conflicts in Most African countries emerge because many a dictator have seen it fit to create such conflicts. In the case of Uganda, for instance, dictator Yoweri Museveni has created wars ever since 1980 when he stated fighting a democratically elected governemnt in Kampala. In the subsequent years, the NRM dictatorship has created wars in DRC Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, Northern Uganda. e.t.c The some members of the international community who are now preaching about the need to establish "african Peace keeping force" never once condemned Yoweri Museveni's activities in the Great Lakes Region of Africa. As a matter of fact some Western Nations were in carhouts with Dictator Yoweri Museveni in some sort of a conspirary of enmess propostion, to carry out such wars against the African people. In such situation, the african, Nationalist African, Must and will have to fight back to unshackle him/herself from the YOKE of Imperalism and Neo-colonialism. NO amount of the so "called Africa Peace keeping force" is going to deter africans from claiming their god given rights and their destiny.
