Invisible Children:  The Effects of War in Northern Uganda

is the title of a film presentation to be held on
Thursday, June 24th, at the Creekside Room at
Dominican University in San Rafael.  The presentation,
which begins at 7 p.m., features a new documentary
produced by filmmaker Jason Russell who spent last
year in Gulu, Uganda, and recorded the results of the
conflict there and its impact on the children.

Guest speakers will include Jason Russell and Jolly
Okot, a native of Gulu, Uganda, who was abducted and
forced into military service as a child soldier.  Ms.
Okot is now acting executive director of the Alliance
for African Assistance--a non-profit organization that
serves the needs of war victims and displaced families
of Northern Uganda.

The Creekside Room is located at 50 Acacia Avenue on
campus at Dominican University.  This free event is
sponsored by Marin Humanists--a bay area,
community-based, volunteer organization with projects
in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
