The European Union has asked the government to find a quick solution to the northern
conflict. The head of delegation Sigurd Illing, said this while launching peace
education materials development at Makerere University on Tuesday.

He said 1.6 million people were living in miserable conditions in northern Uganda. He
said the majority of the people in IDP's were children. "Get prepared to expect
another generation that is not fit in the social fabric of Uganda," he warned.

He said Uganda has two faces. In one part of the country there is tangible development
and the other you see an area of stuck in poverty," Illing said.
