Hello,

I hope all is well

A friend of mine recently asked me the following question:

How many Caribbean countries would be wiped from the Earth if the amount of Congolese killed (6.5 million) in Congo (Kinshasa) between 1997/1998 2003 by the Ugandan and Rwandan armies and the militia they supported?

....so I went and did the math. Here's what I discovered:

The following group of Caribbean countries would be wiped from the face of the Earth:

  1. Jamaica 2,500,000

  2. Trinidad & Tobago 1,200,000

  3. Guyana 730,000

  4. Suriname 455,000

  5. Guadeloupe 410,000

  6. Martinique 360,000

  7. The Bahamas 273,000

  8. Barbados 264,000

  9. Belize 214,000

          (Total) 6,406,000

In 1998 alone, the following group of Caribbean countries would have been wiped from the face of the Earth:

  1. Curacao 146,828

  2. French Guiana 130,000

  3. US Virgin Islands 119,827

  4. St. Vincent & the Grenadines 118,000

  5. Grenada 95,500

  6. Antigua/Barbuda 81,507

  7. Aruba 81,507

  8. Dominica 73,500

  9. St. Martin/St. Maarten 70,876

  10. Antigua/Barbuda 66,500

  11. St. Lucia 42,689

  12. St. Kitts/Nevis 42,000

  13. Cayman Islands 31,930

  14. BR Virgin Islands 17,896

  15. Turks & Caicos 13,800

  16. Montserrat 10,581

  17. Anguilla 10,300

          (Total) 1367241

This is what would be left of the three largest populated Caribbean countries; Cuba, The Dominican Republic and Haiti:

Of Cubas total population of 11,308,764only 4,908,764 Cubans would be left almost 60% of the population would be dead.

Of The Dominican Republic total population of 7.7 milliononly 1.2 million Dominicans would be leftalmost 90% of the population would be dead

Of Haitis total population of 7 millionOnly 500,000 Haitians would be left. almost 95% of the population would be dead.

My friend was stunned....
