Cabinet to consider Church views By Samuel Matekha Monday, 21 June 2004 Government is to consider the church�s views on the political transition while drawing the transition Roadmap. The Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya says that government has been cognoscenti of the remarks religious leader on the political transition. He said this in a speech read for him by Kampala Central Division MP and Housing Minister Hon. Francis Babu at Our Lady and St. Jude Church Naguru parish golden Jubilee celebrations. He says that the church has an important role in the social, Economic and political development of Uganda. He adds that the Church should freely participate in the selection of leaders and deliberation of policies that affect the Nation. Meanwhile Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala has described as Ignorant Born Again Christians �Balookole� who preach against the Catholic Church for modern Churches. The Cardinal says that this was foretold in scripture that such teachings would be there to divide and cause enmity in the church of God.
