FORMER rebel leader Alice Lakwena has said she will stay out of politics once she
returns to Uganda.

"I am not interested in any politics whatsoever. When I return, I will not even stand
for Member of Parliament. All I want is peace," she said.

Lakwena, who has been in self-imposed exile in neighbouring Kenya, was on Tuesday
speaking in a telephone interview with Capital FM.

She accused some politicians of reaping from the war.

"The war in the north is taking long to end because some people are benefiting from
it. I want to return and help the Government end the war," she said

She added, "I don't want (President) Museveni's job, but I want to be given security
when I return."
