"The zone is currently presided by government troops that are conducting sweeping
operation in the intent of uprooting the rebels"

******The fact that there were Government soldiers in this so called zone cannot be
over emphasized.

Why didn't they intervene to stop the "rebels" from committing such crime.

The\is line of reasoining lends credency to the fact that it is most probably
Government soldiers who are involved in such Massacred of lango civilians... and are
now blaming the faceless "rebels" for such atrocities.

REBEL MASSACRE IN LIRA DISTRICT, VICTIMS MUTILATED
 General, Brief

The rebels of the LRA (lordâs Resistance Army) killed 11 civilians, 4 of which
children. MISNA sources refer that the attack took place on Saturday evening at
6:30p.m. local time, 30km east of the town of Lira (administrative centre of the
homonymous district), in a territory inhabited by the Lango ethnic group. The rebels
first beat the victims and then mutilated them horribly. The ferocious crime, which
lasted an hour and a half in the location of Apunga (around 1km from the Abia refugee
camp), was perpetrated by an unconfirmed number of âtotongâ (âbutchersâ, as
Joseph Konyâs rebels are called in lango) that also abducted six people apparently
used to transport food and other merchandise stoles in the Apunga homes. The zone is
currently presided by government troops that are conducting sweeping operation in the
intent of uprooting the rebels.
