MUKONO Kawempe North MP, Mr Latif Ssebaggala, has accused President Yoweri Museveni of betraying Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi by breaching the bush war contract.

Ssebagala was addressing Democratic Party (DP) supporters in Mukono Town Council on Sunday. He said Museveni promised to grant Buganda a federo status while in the bush with Kabaka.

He said the President used Kabaka to win Baganda's support on grounds that he would consider Buganda's priorities. He (Museveni) breached the contract with the Kabaka. Imagine he used him as a bait to garner support for himself," Ssebaggala said angrily.

He added: Museveni is a serial liar and don't trust him. If you give him a handshake, after, count your fingers. He may have disappeared with some.
The DP Organising Secretary, Mr Diamiano Lubega, said the President was reminded about Bugandas agreement soon after capturing power, but he dismissed it outright.

Kabakas delegation, myself inclusive, met Museveni on federo and he refused. Im not sure that after 18 years he can really grant it, he said. The President on Sunday reportedly told a Buganda delegation that he never promised federo.
