Sironko disowns Glory kingdom

By Nathan Etengu

Sironko district has disowned the self-styled Glory Kingdom of the Bamasaba, a little known cultural institution trying to establish itself in Bugisu.

The chairman, Francis Nagimesi, said the Bagisu never had any kingdom and Sironko district would never be party to the formation of any such cultural institution.

A man identified as Joseph K. Wash recently wrote to all the cultural institutions and other organisations in the country inviting them to attend a special dedication meeting of the king of the Bamasaba.

Wash, who claimed to be the kingdoms prime minister, said the meeting would be held at St. Austin Social Centre, Mbale, where the king and his interim committee would be blessed.
