Don�t expand Kampala � Mengo

BUGANDA Kingdom has rejected a proposal from the government to add Kira Sub-county in Wakiso District to Kampala District when Mengo Municipality is created.
�Buganda is opposed to curving out of Wakiso District for the purposes of adding it to Kampala City,� the Katikkiro, Joseph Ssemwogerere, said on Thursday.
The Cabinet wants to turn the whole of Lubaga Division and some parts of Central Division into Mengo Municipality to address Buganda�s demand to have the kingdom�s headquarters in Buganda.
In return, Kampala would get Kira Subcounty (Naalya and Kireka).
