Those girls can pick up their lives from where they left off, but it depends on how much psychological damage is done to them and how resilient they are.
I have a feeling that these girls shall pass the pain they are feeling now. They are 3 and they have each other to fall onto for support through this hard time. Rape victims who do not report the incidents to police are mainly the ones who experience the most psychological damage. They are the ones who "loose" life, hope, etc because they fell defeated.
But for a woman or girl to report a rape case to the authorities, that hints at signs of resilience that "I am not defeated, I have to revenge". Those girls did the right thing. They shall pass the psychological trauma of it but they will have to face the social stigmas out there about rape victims.
The Uganda Police should abide by a privacy policy. They should stop giving out the victims' identity and addresses. The people will loose confidence in their ability to protect people's privacy against the public.
I agree with you that Adriko and company should serve jail time. We should make castration as the punishment for such brutal rapes. Such criminals are wasting tax payers' money in jail. We should castrate them.
